'Málaga, Picasso's Muse'

Pablo Picasso was born in Malaga in 1881, where he spent his childhood. The atmosphere and daily life of that prosperous period, with its great commercial and port activity, was the seed of some of the recurring themes of his work, such as flamenco, pigeons and bullfighting.

Art experts have seen a series of symbols associated with Malaga reflected in his work: the key of his Málaga eye, the jasmines, the black sand of the beach, etc. These indirect allusions are evidence of Picasso's longing to return to his native city after his departure to A Coruña in 1891.

The winner will receive € 1.500 and there will be 9 runners-up will receive a stay at a Eurostars Hotel of their choice.
