Interior design
The interior design of Áurea Palacio de la Tinta is based on a clear idea: to bring the most expressive essence of Picasso into the hotel, particularly his Cubist period, but in a subtle and contemporary way.
The interior design of Áurea Palacio de la Tinta is based on a clear idea: to bring the most expressive essence of Picasso into the hotel, particularly his Cubist period, but in a subtle and contemporary way.
The Cubist influence can be felt in many corners of the hotel, always in a balanced way. Warm tones, such as beige and red, are combined with soft blues and greens, bringing calm and harmony to the spaces.
In the communal areas, marble floors with geometric compositions add a distinctive character, while the stained glass in the corridors and staircase allows light to shift and transform throughout the day.
This same concept continues in other areas of the hotel. In the restaurant, the bar becomes a focal feature with its geometric forms, while in the rooms the headboards echo this interplay of volumes and colour, creating a cohesive design language throughout the property.
One of the project’s greatest achievements was giving prominence to the fourth floor. Its height, natural light and the building’s original structure make it one of the hotel’s most remarkable spaces.
This is where the restaurant, the relaxation areas and a magnificent terrace are located, offering views over the sea and Gibralfaro. Rather than placing the communal spaces at street level, the hotel elevates them to provide a different experience—brighter and more open to the city.
A glass lift connects this floor directly with the reception, ensuring smooth and convenient access. The result is a space designed for enjoyment, both for guests and for locals.
The rooms feature a warm, timeless design with a very clear aim: to ensure guests feel comfortable from the very first moment. Although each room is different due to the building’s own structure, they all share the same sense of calm and elegance.
Wood, soft textiles, marble-like finishes and carefully designed lighting come together to create pleasant and welcoming spaces.
