It has lavished attention on holding the Prince of Asturias Awards for thirty years
Much more than a hotel: a symbol. Much more than a place to stay: it is the place where knowledge and talent live. The Eurostars Hotel de La Reconquista is, quite possibly, one of Spain's most characterful hotels. Tradition, luxury, nobility and more than 200 years of history have made of it an international iconic in Asturias. In 1752, the Provincial Hospice of Oviedo was founded in this building, remaining so until 1965. After undergoing several renovations, in June 1974 it was transformed into the Hotel de la Reconquista.
Located in the heart of Oviedo, next to the Parque San Francisco and just a few minutes from the Campoamor Theatre, the Eurostars Hotel de la Reconquista is found at the point where the historic quarter and the financial district meet. In this complex listed as a National Monument, an elegant baroque façade invites guests to discover a surprise-filled interior: a 250-metre carpet covers the floor of the hall; two spectacular courtyards; a fully equipped convention centre spread over 9000 m2; an octagonal chapel designed by architect Ventura Rodríguez; a culinary space combining tradition and modernity; and works by leading Asturian artists such as Mariano Moré, Purón Sotres, Adolfo Bartolomé and Vaquero Palacio.
Its 142 outward-facing rooms and exterior courtyards complement the hotel's architecture. The Hotel de La Reconquista has a large capacity for holding events, with over 16 meeting rooms of various capacities. The hotel also has two restaurants, two hairdressers, a shopping centre and private parking. The combination of art, culture and knowledge that characterises the Eurostars Hotel de La Reconquista comes into its own every year at the end of October, with the presentation of the Prince of Asturias Prizes, when the hotel is embellished for its most prestigious guests: the winners.
