    Our chef

    Chef Jürgen Lengauer is the creative force behind the ÖKKEI gastronomic concept at the «1870 – Restaurant Terrace Lounge» of the Eurostars Grand Hotel Wien. His career is marked by extensive international experience that has shaped his culinary style: an elegant fusion of the precision of Japanese cuisine, the vibrancy of South American flavours and European technical rigour. Rather than following trends, Lengauer has developed his own identity based on balance and authenticity.

    Throughout his career, he has turned each journey into a source of inspiration, understanding gastronomy as a universal language capable of connecting cultures. His cuisine is characterised by a deep sensitivity towards ingredients, as well as a refined execution that blends tradition and innovation. Each creation reflects his ability to reinterpret flavours from around the world through a contemporary and personal lens.

    Committed to sustainability and the environment, Lengauer focuses on working with local ingredients, even when recreating nuances and products from other latitudes. This philosophy not only defines his cuisine, but also his way of understanding haute cuisine: conscious, creative and deeply connected to the territory.

    At 1870, every midday becomes a carefully curated gastronomic experience. From Monday to Friday, we invite you to discover our Grand Lunch: a proposal that pays tribute to tradition while reinterpreting it through a contemporary lens.

    Our menu combines familiar flavours with modern nuances, without losing the essence of our Grand classics, which continue to hold a prominent place for those seeking authenticity.

    The Grand Lunch menu includes a selection of wines, mineral water and coffee and tea specialities, thoughtfully chosen to accompany each dish with balance and harmony.

    ‘East meets West’ brunch

    The “East Meets West” brunch is the hallmark of a truly special event at the Eurostars Grand Hotel Wien. At restaurant 1870 and the Teppanyaki table of UNKAI, the largest and most complete brunch in Vienna is celebrated. Every first Sunday of the month, between 11:30 am and 4:00 pm, a unique combination of both renowned restaurants awaits you: UNKAI and 1870.
