Surrounded by vineyards, gardens and the landscapes of Ribeira Sacra, Áurea Palacio de Sober occupies a historic building enclosed by walls dating back to the 7th century. Considered the oldest manor house in Ribeira Sacra, it preserves the character and history of this unique corner of Galicia.

The connection with the surrounding landscape is an essential part of the experience. The hotel features 20,000 m² of gardens, an open-air glass-enclosed spa and a restaurant, in an area shaped by vineyards, river canyons and the heritage of Ribeira Sacra.

Located in the south of the province of Lugo, Áurea Palacio de Sober is 10 kilometres from Monforte de Lemos and less than 40 kilometres from Ourense. Its location offers the opportunity to discover some of Ribeira Sacra’s most distinctive landscapes, explore its viewpoints and experience a region closely associated with wine and winemaking traditions.

The spa at Áurea Palacio de Sober is one of the hotel’s most exclusive spaces: a glass-enclosed area surrounded by nature and overlooking the gardens. The experience begins in the indoor pool, equipped with water beds, waterfalls, swan-neck jets, cervical and lumbar jets, and a whirlpool.

The circuit continues with a contrast shower, Finnish sauna and Turkish bath. To complete the experience, heated loungers offer the opportunity to extend moments of relaxation in front of the panoramic windows.

Gastronomy is an essential aspect of Galician culture, especially in the Ribeira Sacra, with a renowned wine tradition. During your stay at the Aurea Palacio de Sober, you can not miss a wine tasting of the designation of origin Ribeira Sacra, accompanying some of the most typical dishes.

Seasonal vegetables, chestnuts, meats, traditional sausages, seafood and Atlantic fish, constitute a traditional cuisine oriented by the deepest respect for each product.

The historic character of the manor house and its gardens make it suitable for both professional gatherings and private celebrations.

The hotel has function rooms of different sizes, suitable for small meetings and larger events. These include La Bodeguita, Los Arcos and the Sala Magna, the main event space, which can accommodate celebrations for up to 240 guests. The 20,000 m² of gardens offer additional possibilities for every occasion.

The hotel also has its own chapel, integrated into the palace’s architectural complex, where ceremonies can be held without the need to travel elsewhere.

Catamaran ride

OUR MOMENT Singular & Cultural

The Aurea Palacio de Sober 4* is the largest civil building in Galicia. The original construction consisted of a medieval tower in the 12th century, pertaining to the López de Lemos lordship, the Lords of Sober and Ferreira. The present building is a reconstruction carried out in 2010, which shows the different historic eras and includes the remains of a wall from the 12th century.
