Built in 1932, the former Post Office building in Logroño now houses the spectacular Aurea Palacio de Correos. This hotel with a boutique soul preserves the essence of the original building with its most symbolic architectural elements, an outstanding example of the neo-baroque style in the city.
El Aurea Palacio de Correos will amaze you with its tribute to the building’s original activity. It has a complete collection of old postcards sent by postal workers during the holidays, including pieces from the eighteenth century, and the rooms are also decorated with colourful compositions created from stamps.
Inside the hotel, there are displays of mail art, and on the façade, the building’s original post-boxes guard the main entrance. This homage also extends to the Matasellos “Postmark” restaurant, another nod to the postal world.

The post office building is one of the oldest and most symbolic in Logroño. Construction began on 17 May 1927, a date which was also the 25th anniversary of Alfonso XIII's reign, and it was opened on 23 May 1932. The opening ceremony was attended by the managing directors of the telegraph office and post office, among other authorities.
