The city of León is the repository of a weighted, discrete Castilian soil on whose foundations are accumulated events of great historical importance since Roman times.
Warrior city par excellence, León has been able to make the particular transition from historic ground into dynamic city with its own personality and agenda. In León the heritage value is still present in the solemnity of the Gothic Cathedral of Santa Maria, a symbol of the city, the health of the Romanesque Basilica of San Isidoro, the preciousness Renaissance Monastery of St. Mark and the modernist mark of Antonio Gaudi visible in the Botines House.
But in addition to being recreated by works that synthesize centuries of history, the bid León has made for the future is evident.
