The hotel’s café is a welcoming and cozy space where guests can enjoy spirits, coffee or snacks. Space is shared with our library, which includes a collection of significant literary, political and scientific works from the Enlightenment.
More than two hundred volumes are available in our library. The gem of the collection is undoubtedly a facsimile of l’Encyclopédie, published in France between 1751 y 1772 and edited and supervised by the philosopher Denis Diderot. Franco Maria Ricci, considered as the best publisher of art works and bibliophily in the world, reproduced the facsimile edition of this gem of knowledge in Parma, using hand-made paper, leather binding, silk and gilt decoration.
The Eurostars Marqués de la Ensenada Hotel’s guests will have the privilege of discovering the 17 volumes, 71,818 articles and 2,885 illustrations of L'Encyclopédie, ou Dictionnaire raisonné des sciences, des arts et des métiers, original title of this masterpiece.
